| Accounting Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking an individual who must be comfortable working in a dynamic changing environment. Duties will include: overseeing the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements. Prepares financial reports, must have knowledge of excel spreadsheets and SEC reporting, month end closing process, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, internal/external audits, preparation/payment and filling of taxes and related reports, payroll auditing and filings, manages and interprets cost audits, and prepares cost accounting reports for presentation to senior management. Manages the general accounting staff and typically reports to CFO.
Skills/Education/Experience Required:
1. BS in accounting or equivalent education
2. CPA designation
3. SEC experience needed
4. 4-6 years experience in accounting or audit within the property/casualty insurance industry, at least 2 years of management/supervisory background
5. Significant experience with STAT & GAAP reporting and analysis
6. Demonstrated knowledge of PC applications including Microsoft Office
7. Self motivated team player with superior analytical skills
8. Excellent interpersonal skills required for interaction with various levels and departments with Sequoia
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with shifting priorities
Education:
A bachelor's degree is required and 4-6 years of experience in the related field. Designation of CPA is required and management experience is preferred.
